Anti-Semitism, An Atrocious “Trend”

Our world has seen its fair share of brutality. From Hulagu Khan, who boasted about killing 200,000 Muslims during his violent week-long rampage in the city of Bagdhad which also resulted in the complete destruction of centuries-old heritage, to Vikings that took what they deemed desirable by force and violence, to the modern day Syrian regime targeting its own people, we can say that our world has witnessed some unspeakable acts of violence.

However, throughout the history, some groups were targeted more than the others. Like the Jewish people. Their ordeal started at the hands of Pharaoh, who killed their boys and let only their girls live. The oppression against Jews continued throughout Antiquity, at the hands of the Assyrians, Babylon and the Romans, who massacred and exiled Jews and destroyed their temples and cities. In Medieval times, Jews were once again targeted, labeled, discriminated against and chased away from wherever they took shelter. The oppression continued in recent history when six million Jews were slaughtered by Nazis.

Today, the persecution still goes on.

Anti-Semitism in Europe lingers in the form of harassment in public areas, offensive remarks and discriminatory behavior in social life and more terrifyingly, in the form of brutal assaults; The vandalizing and looting of Jewish businesses, burning of cars, hundreds chanting “gas the Jews”, “kill the Jews” in violent protests, shooting and molotov cocktail attacks at the synagogues, and the recent Creteil attack in France where a Jewish couple was brutally attacked in their homes. The incident was a horrible reminder of the 2006 incident -again in France- that involved a young Jewish man being captured, tortured for weeks and then left naked to die. He later died from his injuries.

France is not the only place that witnesses anti-Semitism. From Argentina, to Tunisia, from Ireland to Spain, Jews seem to be caught up in a constant cycle of hatred targeting their communities. Even in the USA, which is known for its unwavering support for Israel, Jewish people are wary of divulging their identities, or practicing their religious duties in public. An unprovoked attack on a 24-year-old Jewish man wearing a yarmulke by four men in Brooklyn, NY; the assault of a 12-year-old Jewish girl who had a bottle thrown at her by a group of girls, including one who yelled, “You dirty Jew”; and the attack on a Jewish man in Los Angeles, CA, who was surrounded by five male suspects who yelled “Heil Hitler!” before striking him, can be listed amongst the disturbing incidents in the USA.

The Middle East is home to the worst cases of anti-Semitism. Especially after the recent Gaza/Israeli war, hatred towards Jewish people regardless of their age, gender or involvement in any of the conflict, has gone up in a disturbingly fast manner. But why does some people seem to think that it is legit to hate Jewish people?

In the past, some people disliked Jews as they saw them underhanded conspirators who segregated themselves from the societies they lived in due to widespread antisemitic propaganda as The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. The sentiment was further fuelled with notorious lies like the blood libel, portraying Jews as the veritable embodiment of evil. Today, the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians is the driving force behind this ubiqutious Jewish-hatred, and often used as a cloak to justify violence against ordinary Jews on the streets.

Surely political administrations or individuals within a community might make mistakes. However, persecuting a whole community based on the acts of few would be neither Quranic nor moral.

The Jewish people are known for their calm and modest demeanor. They are a quiet people that like to occupy themselves with their daily routine and religious practices. Therefore it is even more surprising that such calm and reserved people have been on the receiving end of such persecution throughout the history.

Any resentment towards the policies of Israel should be voiced in a civil manner, without putting the blame on the entire community. God prohibits Muslims from such a behavior. In the Qur’an, God warns believers as such:

“O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm for Allah, witnesses in justice, and do not let the hatred of a people prevent you from being just. Be just; that is nearer to righteousness. And fear Allah ; indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what you do.” (Qur’an 5:8)

It is most natural for there to be good and bad people in every group, community or nation. Just like there are countless murderers, liars, criminals, people with bad morals in the Muslim communities, it is natural for Jewish communities to have people with less than commendable actions. Yet, it is a most absurd and ridiculous act to feel antipathy towards a group in its entirety for the actions of a few. Most importantly it is diagonally opposite to the teachings of Qur’an.

According to the Qur’an, Jewish people are People of the Book and are to be respected, protected and approached with love. God allows Muslims bonding with them through marriage, which alone explains the extent of friendship and closeness God expects from us to have with them. As when people marry, they become their significant others, lovers, confidants, and companions. God also allows us to have social bonds with Jews, to have dinners with them in their homes. God never tells Muslims to hate them, or discriminate against Jews or Christians. God praises Jews in many verses for their devotion and piety and indeed, Jewish people set a great example to Muslims with their unwavering loyalty to the Prophet Moses.

All these facts make it clear that there is no basis, neither in Islam nor in Judaism, that could lead to such friction. Once everyone realizes that God created this world for love and it is against God’s wishes to harbor hostile feelings towards each other, brotherhood and peace will prevail.

Rejoicing over the attack on Rabbi Yehuda Glick is not in compliance with Islam religion. It is oppression to attack religious personalities

They approached Rabbi Yehudah Glick, who previously came here to visit me, by the exit to a conference to be sure of his identity and shot him three times. They asked who he was and then shot him. The shooter fled on a motorbike. Rabbi Glick is now in a serious condition. The Muslims there [Jerusalem] hate him because he argues that the Jews should also be able to pray at the Temple of the Mount. There are claims made against the rabbi, provocative conspiracy theories about bombing the al-Aqsa Mosque. Yet I met him here and he was a very modest person, very polite and well-mannered. He used no extreme or aggressive language. According to the Torah the Jews should be able to pray on that hill, where the al-Aqsa Mosque stands. Let them pray, where is the harm in that? That is good. What more do you want? They have made praying to Allah into a crime. This shows just how essential it is for Moshiach, the Mahdi, to appear. When Rabbi Glick came here we read the portents of the coming of Moshiach, the Mahdi, together, and we spoke of the building of the Temple of Solomon. He was an immaculate person. You must fear Allah! We spoke of brotherhood and said we are all the children of Abraham. We said that in the End Times that the mount would be a place of prayer for all nations. I spoke with him. That blessed person was delighted. He spoke of the Torah. He said let us perform a sacrifice with Muslims there. We spoke of excellent things. But I fail to understand how the shooter could just have come up to him. What is going on? That is the system that has emerged. Is there no security? Were there no plainclothes police? It used to be full of police everywhere. There would be plainclothes polices dressed as orange vendors or dustmen. That is how it should be there, too. So they can move in at a moment’s notice. The man shoots him and escapes on a bike. May Allah have mercy on our brother. He was an immaculate and devout person. He used to say there is no other God than Allah. He had a great love of Islam. I mean, I speak with rabbis among ourselves and they say ‘The Prophet Muhammed was a true prophet. But we are devoted to the Torah, we are devoted to Moses and do not wish to abandon our loyalty to the Torah. But we believe that Muhammed was a true prophet.”  Then you shoot him. Is that not a disgrace? It is pure evil, nothing more. They say that Allah has commanded them to protect the Torah. That is an explicit commandment. There is also a verse in the Quran about protecting it. They say they are doing that, but they are not rejecting the true prophet. They say that Muhammed is as important to them as Abraham. They say they know he is also a prophet. But they say let nobody try to force us to become irreligious. That is in reference to those circles. I said there was no question of that, because after recognizing the Qur’an they have become Jewish followers of Muhammed. He was an immaculate person, with red hair, a really nice person. How can they not take precautions? They have Mossad, the Israeli secret police, they have all kinds of things. Put some people there. How could that have happened so blatantly? These poor, innocent people are always unarmed. They attack other rabbis who come here. It happened to [Rabbi] Abrahamson who was here. He had a lucky escape on a bus. What is all this inanity? Let them live in peace, as they did in the time of our Prophet. Our Prophet spread out his robe for them to sit on. He married one of their women. She became his wife, his sister, his confidante. There is this extreme hatred of Jews. The evangelicals provoke it and orthodox Muslims also provoke it. The evangelicals say the Prophet Jesus will come and slay all but 144,000 of them. If you say that, my brother, you are sowing the seeds of hatred. You say you love the Prophet Jesus, and you even say that he is God, may Allah forbid, but then you say that he hates the Jews. Does that not mean you hate them? That makes it obligatory for you to hate them. If the Prophet Jesus hates them, so must you. What does 144,000 mean? Just a handful of people. There are some 20 million Jews in the world. You are setting 144,000 people aside. Only they will be saved, you say. You say they will be saved as Christians. Under Jewish law, that would make them apostates. You say that all true Jews will be destroyed and that they are cursed. That is wrong, it cannot deceive people. You are sowing the seeds of hatred, and you are causing all Christians to hate them. What do the orthodox Muslims do? They say that stones and trees will gives Jews away. That they will say there is a Jew hiding behind me, so come and kill him. What kind of hatred is that? They are just encouraging paranoid maniacs. That is just food for schizophrenics. What will a schizophrenic or psychopath then say? He will see a Jew and kill him. When asked why, he will say he was told there was one behind a tree. When asked where he got that idea from he will say that the prophet told him. He will say the tree told him there was a Jew hiding behind it. So he killed him. What will orthodox, traditional Muslims do? They will say well done, you have obeyed one of the hadiths of our Prophet. The killer will say, I heard it the stone or the tree say it, even if you did not. What can you say to a person like that? They are encouraging murder. It is the same with orthodox Catholics. If you regard them as all cursed apart from 144,000, as the enemies of the Prophet Jesus, then some people will believe they are cursed. That is the reason for Hitler’s genocide. He said that since Jesus cursed and hated them, he hated them, too. He said he loved the Prophet Jesus and he wanted to do what Jesus will do. This evil must cease. The Christian world must correct this error. Traditionalist orthodox Muslims must put an end to this disgrace. Let these innocent people alone. They have been devoted to the Prophet Moses for 4000 years. They are devoted to the Torah. I also believe they say nothing against our Prophet. I spoke with a very senior rabbi here. I had better not name him. He said they have seen that they must believe in all the prophets. He said that Muhammed spoke as a Prophet. He said that all his words were compatible with the Torah. He said that a Muslim who abides by the Islam of the Qur’an is a believer in our eyes. In other words, he says they abide by all the conditions in the Torah. He regards you as a believer, so why do you regard him as an unbeliever? He says he regards Muhammed as a true prophet but that he is attached to the Torah. He says he recognizes prayer and all the other commandments. So leave him alone. There is this disgrace everywhere. May Almighty Allah facilitate the coming of the Mahdi. Insha’Allah.

That rabbi [Yehuda Glick] is not dead, but his situation is critical. The killers are celebrating. That is terrible immorality and cowardice. In addition, he had no gun. He is an innocent person acting through his faith. Yet you cowardly shot an unarmed and guiltless man. You have behaved immorally, so why are you celebrating? He came here as my guest and we spoke together. He is a polite man who just minds his own business. What is there to celebrate? You are celebrating murder and evil and cowardice. Cowardice is something else, it means attacking a defenseless person. He did not come at you with a gun. He is just loyal to the Prophet Moses according to his own faith. What should he do? Should he betray the Prophet Moses? Is that what you want? A loyalty going back 3000 years. I have spoken to most of them. I had better not name names in order not to put them in a difficult position. But they say they know the Prophet Muhammed is the true prophet. And that is that. He believes in the One God, so he is a Muslim. What more do you want? He might not have said that, or he could have been an atheist. So why shoot him?

Adnan Oktar: (Reading) Islamic Jihad and Hamas have issued statements celebrating the shooting of the rabbi; a Hamas spokesman described the attack as heroic. Fatah has issued a poster “Fatah is proud to salute our heroic martyr who carried out the attack on the despicable Glick.”

Yet that is something to be ashamed of. Do you not read the Qur’an? It says that synagogues, mosques and churches are under God’s protection. This man is a rabbi. A man of God, in other words: A devout man. What is his job? He calls in people to believe in God. He is not a soldier or an aggressor, and he was unarmed. He is an innocent muslim (submitter) in the light of his own faith. 

(Reading) Rabbi Glick said in a previous statement, “I go to the Temple of the Mount every day. They constantly throw stones and threaten me, but I am used to it.” There is a video of him reading Surat al-Ikhlas with Muslims.

He says he believes in that Sura. What does that mean? I am reading Surat al-Ikhlas as a believer, and it is the truth, he is saying. What more can he say? If someone says that he believes in a Sura from the Qur’an in the sight of God what does that mean? He says there is One God. In Arabic. 

(Reading) Some Palestinian jihadist sites posted photographs of the rabbi and announced the conference that Glick will attend in order to target him.

As if to say, he will attend this conference, so do what is required. 

(Reading) The rabbi is still in a critical condition. He was shot three times, in the neck, head and chest. 

Is that not a disgrace? He ? He was just minding his own business. He remembers God. He spends his life between his home and the synagogue. What does God say? He tells Muslims to protect the synagogues. And what do you do? You go and shoot a rabbi. What crime did he ever commit? He meets up with Muslims and reads Surat al-Ikhlas. He says, ‘La ilaha illallah (there is no god except God).’ His mind is fixed on his faith. What is heroic about that? It is murder. Evil. And they are rejoicing! 

Bulent Sezgin: Verse 199 of Surat al-‘Imran reads "Among the people of the Book there are some who have iman in Allah and in what has been sent down to you and what was sent down to them, and who are humble before Allah. They do not sell Allah’s signs for a paltry price. Such people will have their reward with their Lord. And Allah is swift at reckoning."

Adnan Oktar: The People of the Book are specially protected by Almighty God. There is a verse; God tells us to treat them nicely and in a compassionate way and God says that we can marry their women. God says that we can invite them to dine or eat with them. He tells us that they can come to our houses and we can go to theirs. God tells us to be their friends and marry them. Look: marry the People of the Book!

But you say this: “Master what business do you have with the Jews?” There will be Islamic Union, and Jews and Christians will all be in it. There will be an alliance with Christians. The system of the Mahdi will prevail. Look; this rabbi who came here is waiting for the Moshiach. He is waiting for the Moshiach with enthusiasm and his whole community is waiting for the Moshiach too. What is Moshiach’s duty? Saving the world from irreligiousness, Darwinism and materialism; turning the world into a fair ground. Ending all pains. Both the Moshiach (Mahdi) and the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) have come. They will both appear very soon. The reason behind the incidents in Turkey is the system of the Mahdi. It is nice that a Jewish rabbi came to Turkey. Show some compassion; they are servants of God. They have remained loyal to the Prophet Moses (pbuh) for four thousand years. They never abandoned their faith. They were careful about right and wrong. They said that God is One. They believe in all prophets and most of the rabbis that I have talked to say that they believe our Prophet (pbuh) as a prophet. Therefore enmity towards Jews, Christians or hatred towards Buddhists or atheists; it is wrong. It is unreasonable and cruel. God could have created you as an atheist, a Jew or a Christian. God has created you as a Muslim, thanks be to God. But our duty towards them is told in the Qur’an. We must be compassionate and loving towards them. But some are siding with cruelty. This is wrong.

ADNAN OKTAR: Surat al-Ma’ida, verse 114; “‘Jesus son of Maryam said, ‘God, our Lord, send down a table to us out of heaven to be a feast for us, for the first and last of us, and as a Sign from You’.” Look, “for the first and last of us, and as a Sign from You.” As a miracle. “Provide for us! You are the Best of Providers!” All food is actually created as a miracle, but the need for free will is not done away with in the hereafter. And the need for free will is not done away with here, either. That table came down, and the believers ate at it. When they entered the room, they found a table all ready for them. They found a table sent down from the Presence of God. If a table comes down from the sky, so will angels and human beings. In other words, Jesus the Messiah (pbuh) will also come down. That sign appears in order to show how reasonable the coming of Jesus the Messiah is. He says, “Send down a table.” If a table comes down, so can a person, insha’Allah. “God said, ‘I will send it down to you but if anyone among you is unbeliever after that, I will punish him with a punishment the like of which I will not inflict on anyone else in all the worlds’!”

 “I will send it down to you.” So the table has come down. The meaning of the verse is explicit. It came down as a miracle. “but if anyone among you is unbeliever after that, I will punish him with a punishment the like of which I will not inflict on anyone else in all the worlds’!” Who was unbeliever? Judas Iscariot. He betrayed Jesus the Messiah. So Almighty God will inflict a terrible punishment on him, as the verse says. “And when God says, ‘Jesus son of Maryam! Did you say to people, “Take me and my mother as gods besides God?”  In other words, did you tell people of belief in the Trinity? Jesus the Messiah (pbuh) says, “Glory be to You,” to Almighty God. “It is not for me to say what I have no right to say!” This is not something a Muslim could say, he means. He says he would never do that. “If I had said it, then You would have known it.” This would be known, it would be known in destiny. “You know what is in my self but I do not know what is in Your Self.”  In other words, he is saying, “O Lord, you are asking me even though You already know.” You are the Knower of all unseen things.” He is emphasizing the might and power of God. “You are the Knower of all unseen things,” says Jesus the Messiah (pbuh). “I said to them nothing but what You ordered me to say: ‘Worship God, my Lord and your Lord’.” The Gospel says the same thing. Look; “Worship God, my Lord and your Lord.” I was a witness against them as long as I remained among them, but when You took me back to You, You were the One watching over them. You are Witness of all things.” In other words, when you took me into Your Presence, You were the witness, the observer. “If You punish them, they are Your servants. If you forgive them, You are the Almighty, the All-Wise.” He is stressing the forgiving aspect of Almighty God. The verse is hinting that they will be forgiven, insha’Allah. When they see the truth and renounce their earlier ways they will be forgiven. “God will say, ‘This is the Day when the sincerity of the sincere will benefit them’.” What comes from their telling the truth? It benefits them. They attain God’s approval, a lightness descends on them and their paradise is broadened. “They will have Gardens with rivers flowing under them, remaining in them timelessly, for ever and ever.” Look, were it not for the seas, the adornment of Istanbul, that adornment would largely vanish. Much of its natural beauty would be lost, in other words. That is why Almighty God says, “They will have Gardens with rivers flowing under them, remaining in them timelessly, for ever and ever.” What is it that Muslims strive for? For God’s approval. What does God say? “God is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him.” What does that mean? They are pleased with one another.  “The kingdom of the heavens and the earth and everything in them belongs to God. He has power over all things.”

Nobody can stand up and say these things are his. According to the Qur’an, people can only be temporarily entrusted with things. “He has power over all things.” It is God Who grants the ability to speak and walk.

Dialogue is the only way forward

Following ratification of the ruling by the Malaysian Court of Appeals  that the name “Allah” can only be used by Muslims, Prime Minister Najib Razak once again defended the decision. What first needs to be said is that in the same way that this ruling is incompatible with the friendship of Christians and Muslims - who have lived together in Malaysia for many years -  it also conflicts with understanding of Islam itself.

Non-Muslims constitute some 40% of the population of Malaysia. The fact that copies of the Bible published in the Malay language 400 years ago used the term ‘Allah’ gives us a better idea of the problem to which this ban will lead. Alongside the question of social peace and understanding, there is no logic in religious terms in telling someone who uses the name ‘Allah’ that he must not do so. There is nothing troubling about a non-Muslim using the name Allah in prayer and worship; on the contrary, it is a cause for rejoicing for a Muslim. 

While this is going on in Malaysia, more interesting things are happening in Iran. No matter how much I say that there can be no solution until the deep state in Iran and Shiite extremism are eliminated, I still support all the initiatives, since the election of President Ruhani in Iran indicates a positive step forward for the region that will lead the way to peace and brotherhood. 

Following the election of Ruhani, major steps have been taken toward the dream of a freer Iran. Language denying the  Holocaust  is being abandoned, moderate messages from President Ruhani via Twitter on the occasion of  his U.S. visit, the telephone conversation between President Obama and President Ruhani, and President Ruhani ending his address to the U.N. by emphasizing the common values found in the Torah, the Gospels and the Qur’an are some of these strides forward. Another instance was added to these just the other day.

President Ruhani hosted Archbishop Leo Boccardi in his office. The message, accompanied by a photograph, that was published on Twitter following that meeting was exceedingly important. President Ruhani said:

“Today we have common objectives and enemies. Extremism and terrorism are our common enemies and, based on the divine teachings, human interactions and cooperation for the elimination of poverty and injustice are common objectives,” We need to have a deeper knowledge of each other’s beliefs and cultures, because nowadays, most of the gaps and enmities are rooted in unfamiliarity and lack of knowledge about each other’s cultures.”

President Ruhani’s words are actually a reflection of the moral values recommended by Islam. According to Islam, Christians and Jews are the People of the Book, and Muslims’ relations with the People of the Book are based on love and understanding. The faithfulness to the Prophet Jesus or the Prophet Moses of the People of the Book, and their loyalty to the Torah or the Gospels, are delightful things for Muslims.

Another important matter shaping Muslims’ relations with the People of the Book is that it is lawful in Islam for Muslims to eat food prepared by them, and Muslim men are allowed to marry women from the People of the Book. The fact that Allah encourages Muslims to engage in such social relations is clear proof that He wishes us to establish warm and high-level human relations with the People of the Book. Sitting down at the same table and raising children together by marrying and spending a lifetime together is a fine and appropriate response from Islam to those who strive to create division and sow disagreement between the two communities.

There may have been various conflicts and disagreements between members of the three divine faiths in the past. However, these did not originate from the essence of Judaism, Christianity and Islam, but from mistaken ideas and opinions on the part of nations, communities and individuals, and from expectations of political or economic gain. Otherwise, one of the common aims of the three divine faiths is for all people to live in peace, tranquility and security, and all opinions that reject that aim and encourage conflict are mistaken in the eyes of all three faiths.

The responsibility of sincere and sensible Christians, Jews and Muslims of good conscience is to assist one another against wickedness and wicked people, and to work together in union and togetherness. That union must be built on the basis of the principles of love, respect, affection, compassion, understanding, harmony and cooperation.

So let us be united and work together to eliminate all the causes that might lead to conflict and fighting. Let us strive together against the bigotry that hinders such an alliance. Let us love and watch over one another. Let us not make differences of belief into pretexts for conflict. Let us build upon our common beliefs for unity and togetherness.

ADNAN OKTAR: Masha’Allah. First let me ask how you are, your health. You must be tired; you have come and gone to a number of places.

GRAHAM HANCOCK: Well, yeah a little tired. I and my wife, she is a photographer, she is with me. We spent the last three weeks in Turkey with the focus of our visit being on the very mysterious, very ancient site of Gobeklitepe. And this site is, in my opinion, the most important archeological site in the world. It rewrites human history and it’s being a fantastic experience for us to be there. So the work has been hard and it has been very positive.

ADNAN OKTAR: What attracted your attention in Göbeklitepe? What was of interest there?

GRAHAM HANCOCK: You see, what I have been known about as an author, I’ve been writing books for 30 years. And my subject has been, is it possible that we do not have the whole story of human history, could there be something missing from the story about our past that archeologists tell us. In short, I have been suggesting the possibility of a lost civilization of Prehistoric antiquity. Now archeologists say that civilization is 5000 or 6000 years old and that before that our ancestors were in the Neolithic they were simple workers of stone, and before that they were hunting gatherings. So it’s very extraordinary and difficult to archeologists to explain why we have the site in Turkey, which is 12000 years old, 7000 years older than the supposedly most ancient civilizations of Sumer and ancient Egypt. And this site in Turkey Gobeklitepe is on an enormous scale. And it required tremendous skill and a workmanship to put it together. So it’s really a tremendous mystery.

ADNAN OKTAR: So the Stone Age is a myth. Is that right?

GRAHAM HANCOCK: Well, yes it is. It begins to show that we’re going to have to revise all our ideas about human history. Because there was in Turkey 12000 years ago a civilization, which was already old at that time. This is not when we see the work at Gobeklitepe, it’s not something that they just invented overnight. They must have been preparing and doing that work for thousand of years before that time.  So it strongly suggests that we are missing a hugely important episode  in human history and the really solid evidence for that is provided by Gobeklitepe. 

And something else that’s interesting about Gobeklitepe. This is the area not only do we see the oldest massive stone work so far known to history in Gobeklitepe but also this is the area as far as we know where agriculture begins. This is the home of agriculture. It’s a kind of ground zero for architecture and for agriculture. And it seems like it’s an ancient think-tank if you like or an ancient center of innovation where I think is that mankind supposedly had never done for the being done for the first time. And I feel that there is a story behind Gobeklitepe, which needs to be told. That’s why I am so fascinated by the site and that’s why I’ve been visiting it.

ADNAN OKTAR: Masha’Allah. Let us look for the Ark of the Prophet Solomon (pbuh) together.

GRAHAM HANCOCK: Well yes, absolutely this is of course another interest of mine. The very first book, I have been writing books for more than 30 years, but the very first book I wrote about a historical mystery concerned the mystery of the Ark of the Covenant that was my book called The Sign and Seal, which was published in 1992. And that book was my own personal quest for the truth about the Ark of Covenant, and I believe that at least very important part of the story of the Ark of Covenant must be thought in Ethiopia. Because there is an amazing tradition concerning the Ark of the Convenant in Ethiopia.

ADNAN OKTAR: But one of the hadiths of our Prophet (saas) says it is at the bottom of Lake Tiberius.

GRAHAM HANCOCK: Well now you’re touching on very interesting issue which also concerns the turmoil in the World today. Since all three of the monotheistic faiths Christianity, Judaism and Islam all of them give a very important place to the Ark of the Covenant.  The Ark of the Covenant is of great significance in Shia, Islam and the belief that the Mahdi must recover the  Ark of the Covenant and bring it back into the world. At a time when there will be a final battle of good against evil. For fundamentalist Jews, there is a belief that they need the Ark of the Covenant in order to build the third temple in Jerusalem. And for fundamentalist Christians, the Ark of the Covenant is referred to in the Book of Revelation as one of the signs of the return of the recovery of rediscovery of the Ark of the Covenant is taken as one of the signs of the coming of the day of  judgment then the end of the world. So it is interesting that this very ancient object which goes back to the time of the Temple of Solomon 3000 years ago or earlier really it’s on the direct blueprint given by God to Moses that this very ancient object, which was then installed in the temple of Solomon, and which then later became lost. That its rediscovery in its return is focused upon by all three of the great monotheistic faiths. Yes, there is a tradition that it is under the waters of Lake Tiberias. I have a separate view, I don’t think that tradition is necessarily the only one wish  for. There is a very powerful tradition in Ethiopia, that the Ark of the Covenant has been there because God wants it to be there for a very long time, more than 2500 years.

ADNAN OKTAR: That is possible. We can look there, too. It is also said to be in Antioch.

GRAHAM HANCOCK: Can I say something now? Maybe we should consider not looking for it. After all, if the fundamentalists branches all of these three religions see its return as a sign of the end of the world, maybe it would be better if we didn’t find it. Just a thought for your consideration.

ADNAN OKTAR: We will definitely find it. We will also rebuild the Temple.

GRAHAM HANCOCK: Let it then not be an instrument of war. Let it be a symbol of piece.

ADNAN OKTAR: Of course, that is how it will be. We will rebuild the Temple, insha’Allah. We will build the temple of Solomon (pbuh). We will rebuild the palace of the Prophet Solomon (pbuh). Not just the Temple, but also the palace. Identically. And we will find the Ark of the Covenant. And we will find the sacred relics inside the Ark. Left over from that time, you know. There is manna in a small measure, and we will find that, too. There is the shirt of the Prophet Moses (pbuh), and his staff. Part of the tablets of the Prophet Moses (pbuh) and several sacred relics. These are described in detail here. The time has also come. Insha’Allah, we will find them.

GRAHAM HANCOCK: Well I hope if we do find them. That mankind has the maturity, the wisdom and the love to recognize the importance of this object without using it as a source of division and separation.

ADNAN OKTAR: Of course, this will be a great movement toward faith. People will admire Allah. They will see that what Allah says is true. They will see that what is said in the holy books is also true. Everyone will be in love with Allah. With the finding of the Ark of the Covenant, there will be nobody left in the world who does not believe. Everyone will share that joy and amazement, because the sacred relics inside it will also be found. People will make peace, not war, when they see everything that Allah said coming true. They will embrace one another and be friends. These things will happen, insha’Allah.

GRAHAM HANCOCK: That is a hope devoutly to be wished for.

ADNAN OKTAR: The building of the Temple will be a source of joy. The building of the palace of the Prophet Solomon (pbuh) will be a source of joy, and the finding of so many sacred relics will also be another source of joy. But Allah will bestow all these things on Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), as a blessing from Him. I mean, this is something that Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will do. In other words, Moshiach, the Messiah, Shiloh. These sacred treasures will be found by someone who appears as Moshiach in the Torah and as Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) in our own sources according to our belief.

GRAHAM HANCOCK: And is this man who will find the Ark of the Covenant, is he now in the world?

ADNAN OKTAR: in my opinion, he is living. Jesus the Messiah (pbuh) is also alive. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), Moshiach, is also alive. Time is over, and we are now at the end of the world.

GRAHAM HANCOCK: Do you feel that we’re close to the end of the world and the judgment day?

ADNAN OKTAR: Of course, the hadiths and statements by Said Nursi say that the day or Reckoning will come in around 2120.

GRAHAM HANCOCK: And then what follows after that for those about sweet children who would like a future for them?

ADNAN OKTAR: The world will all be brothers in this century. All wars in the world will cease, conflicts will cease. Peace, love, friendship and goodness will rule the world. There will be a huge explosion of civilization. There will be huge advances in architecture, art and beauty. Democracy will completely rule the world. Ideas and freedom will rule the world. Women will come to the fore. Women’s rights will reach a peak. Women will live freely and happily. Children will live freely and happily. This will happen for the first and last time in this century. Then a major degeneration will begin; very serious degeneration, and the Reckoning will come in around 2120. All these sources are also in the hadiths of our Prophet (saas), and in the Torah and the Zohar, and they are indicated in the Gospels in the same way.

GRAHAM HANCOCK: I am still trying to understand so you’re saying an amazing period of universe of harmony and love where the best human qualities come to the front but then after that you’re saying that decline and corruption and judgment. Is that right, do I understand correctly?

ADNAN OKTAR: Yes, after that will come degeneration and then the Reckoning, insha’Allah. We are in the end times, insha’Allah.

Masha’Allah, he is someone who knows, who knows better than I do, but he still asks. He is someone who has performed deep research into these matters, someone with spirituality, masha’Allah. These subjects are broad. So let us hold a special conversation. Let us finish our chat and go into details, let us show the sources and have a broad conversation.

Let that be enough for today, insha’Allah.

Yaşar Yakış: As Mr. Oktar has arrived, as he joined us, let us first of all leave the floor to him and then continue with the rest of the program. As I have stated in the very beginning Mr. Adnan Oktar is the real host of this event. He is the Honorary President of the Foundation for the Preservation of National Values. Please go on Mr. Oktar.

Adnan Oktar: Thank you very much, my esteemed minister. I welcome all our guests here. I am very much pleased with your attendance. You have brought us honor, you've made us happy and pleased. I thank you all very much. A world living in peace, brotherhood and serenity is something that we all want. Jews, Christians, Muslims living together as brothers is very exciting. We see this beauty in the Torah, we see this beauty in the Gospels and we see this beauty in the Qur'an as well. Look, Almighty Allah says in the Surat Al-Baqarah [verse; 208] - I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed satan - "O you who believe, join in peace, all of you.." Join in peace. "Allah calls to the Abode of Peace and He guides whom He wills to a straight path." [Surah Yunus; 25] Peace is mentioned here again, that is what Allah wants from us. In the same manner we look at the Torah; "How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!" Psalms [133:1] "For he [Solomon] ruled over all the kingdoms... and had peace on all sides." [1 Kings, 4:24] Allah will show those days again to us. He says there were peace on all sides. ".. Did not one God create us?" says Allah in the Torah, one Allah has created us all, "Why do we profane the covenant of our fathers by breaking faith with one another?" [Malachi, 2:10] Allah says; why are you fighting then? Why are there wars? in Malachi. "Consider the blameless, observe the upright; there is a future for the man of peace." [Psalms, 37:37] And that future has come, those days promised in the Torah have come. "... Render true and sound judgment in your courts; do not plot evil against your neighbor..." So He says; do not hate each other, do not attack one another, do not say evil things to each other, do not make war. ".. I hate all this," declares the Lord," says Allah in the Torah. "Again the word of the Lord Almighty came to me. This is what the Lord Almighty says: '... Therefore love truth and peace.'" [Zechariah, 8:16-18] Peace; that is the soundness, relief, beauty. Allah says; "I will take away the chariots.." in the Torah. Those are the tanks and cannon balls, they will be taken away. ".. and the battle bow will be broken.." The weapons will be broken. ".. He [your King].." King Messiah, Moshiach, and that is the Mahdi in Islamic belief ".. will proclaim peace to the nations." Zechariah, 9:10. "Burn them [the weapons] up" Allah says that there will be no weapons left. ".. the small shields and the large shields, the bows and arrows, the war clubs and the spears [will be thrown to fire]" So all kinds of weapons will be eliminated. ".. They will use them for fuel... declares the Sovereign Lord." In Ezekiel [39;9-10]. We are in this beautiful period. That is a period of peace, a period of love and goodness. That is a period in which the whole world will be brothers. Almighty Allah says; "Bow and sword and battle I will abolish from the land, so that all may lie down in safety," in Hosea [2:18].           

In the same manner we see the same beauty in the Gospels as well; "Blessed are the peacemakers! For they will be called servants of God..." Matthew, 5:9. Look Allah says; "blessed are the peacemakers!" "If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone." Romans [12: 18] That is what we are doing at the moment, we are doing whatever possible with all our might for peace. "Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy". Hebrews [12:14]. "God has called us to live in peace" 1 Corinthians [7:15]. Peace and welfare is asked for in everywhere. That is why the time for the happiness, beauty and welfare in the Middle East has come. Allah's letting us hold these beautiful meetings, His bringing together these beautiful people, His making us continuously talk about love and peace, is one of the portents of it. We would not want any nation to live in difficulty and pain, not Jews, not people in any other religion, not Christians, not Muslims, not Palestinians. We want all of them to live in peace and tranquility. That is why people of peace holding such beautiful meetings is very to the point. That is because the Palestinians are also from the line of Ishmael. They are the children of the same father. They are all the children of the Prophet Abraham (pbuh). The others, the Israelis are already the children of the Prophet Israel (pbuh), of Jacob (pbuh). We all want the children of the Prophets to live in that beauty, in that comfort. Satan has dragged us into a fight with each other. But an end has come in this fight by the leave of Allah. We will present this beauty, this goodness to each other; away from egoism and selfishness, in a friendly and brotherly manner, within the spirit of generosity. The Prophet Abraham (pbuh) has slaughtered a calf to his guests whom he never met before. He invited them to a roasted calf and said; "come please and eat." Yet he understood that actually they were angels. Behaving in similar manners with that of the Prophet Abraham (pbuh) and living in that peaceful spirit of Islam is a duty upon all of us, insha'Allah. We also see the same in the hadiths [of our Prophet (saas)]. For instance; In the age of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)- that is the time of the Moshiach, the time of the King Messiah, ".. the sheep will graze with the wolf and children will play with snakes and scorpions but will come to no harm." Snakes meaning; anarchists, terrorists will not be able to harm people. [That is from] Al-Qawl al-Mukhtasar fi 'Alamat al-Mahdi al-Muntadhar [p. 43] A reliable Islamic source. In the time of Moshiach, that is Hazrat Mahdi "He, Allah, will do away with enmity and hatred. The venom will be removed from poisonous animals. Even a small boy will place his hand in a serpent's mouth, and the serpent will not harm him. The wolf will be like a dog in a herd of sheep or goats. Earth will be filled with peace just like water fills the pot." [Sunan Ibn Majah, p. 331-35] That time has come. In the Torah accounts there are references to the dates 1999-2012. Islamic accounts have such references as well. Actually the foundation of the state of Israel is one of the greatest portents of this. We want Israel to live in the region in peace and in brotherhood and we think that Israel is an ornament in that region. Just like Palestinians being ornaments, being the beauty of the region, just like our Muslim brothers and sisters being the ornaments of the region, our Christian brothers and sisters there are also beauties and ornaments of the region, Jews are beauties and ornaments of the region as well.

Look in Surat Al-Isra, verse 104, Almighty Allah says; " And We said thereafter to the Children of Israel.." meaning We said unto the Jews, Allah says this. That is a verse. ".. Dwell securely in the land" meaning dwell in Israel. ".. but when the promise of the Hereafter cometh to pass We shall bring you as a crowd gathered out of various nations." (Surat Al-Isra', 104) Consequently those who tell them to go out of those lands are on the wrong path because they are acting in conflict with the Qur'an. According to the Qur'an.. look Allah says in another verse, in Surat Al-Maida, verse 20, 21. "Remember Moses said to his people: "O my people! Call in remembrance the favor of Allah unto you, when He produced prophets among you, made you kings, and gave you what He had not given to any other among the peoples. O my people! Enter the holy land which Allah hath assigned unto you,"- that is Israel, ".. and turn not back ignominiously, for then will ye be overthrown, to your own ruin." (Surat Al-Maide, 20-21) From here we see that Israel's existence in the region is rightful. It is necessary according to the Qur'an, it is necessary according to good conscience and it is necessary according to the reason as well. We want all nations, all religions, all faiths to live in peace. We want also the atheists, communists, Masons, Templars and all to be able to express their opinions and thoughts in peace. We want democracy to rule all around. We want freedom of speech to prevail all around. We want everyone to be respectful towards each other. Insha'Allah we are here today, we have gathered as a portent of those beautiful days. Allah has gathered us here with the beautiful contributions of Mr. Yaşar Yakış, our esteemed former Minister. Allah gives him such beautiful duties, that's been attracting my attention lately. He is a blessed person, he is an esteemed person, may Allah give him a long life. May Allah give long life to all of you. I feel the same feelings for our esteemed guests we received, I am of the same opinion for all of them. I thank you all. May Allah give us all peaceful, happy, beautiful and good days insha'Allah.

Nissim Zeev: We need you in Israel to make a speech.

Yaşar Yakış: In that case, you need to invite him to Israel so that he can go and talk there as well. [Translating] Our guest says; "The verses Mr. Oktar has mentioned are the signs in the Qur'an that declare that the current lands of Israel are given to the People of Israel. We have thus been informed about them."

Adnan Oktar: All nations, all peoples have the right to live freely and beautifully. The command of Almighty Allah is for the People of Israel to live there. The people of Israel habited there for thousands of years. Judaism is a religion of four thousand years and they've been living loyal to Allah and their religion, they've been living loyal to the Prophet Moses (pbuh). That is a beauty, an ornament. The same holds true for Christianity, and for Islam as well. We also want Muslims to live freely, peacefully and in tranquility in the lands that they reside in. That is what Allah wants from us. However attempting to drive Israel out of that region, telling them "go there!" and when they do so saying; "go there!" would be very cruel. The Spanish did that before. Ottomans have protected our Jewish brothers then. They have received them in the most beautiful place, in the most beautiful part of Istanbul. Look, Ottomans brought Jews in ships and settled them in the most beautiful part of the most beautiful city of the Ottomans. And they have showed them an amazing respect and love. We are the children of Ottomans and we share the same spirit and we would never ever overlook any religion's followers suffering pain and misery. We have always been such a protector, we have always shown that love and friendship. It is very reasonable for Israel to exist in the region. The Israeli children running around in cheer all around in the region, the young men and girls singing merrily, their reciting the Name of Allah in synagogues, Christians reciting the Name of Allah in a very heartfelt manner, worshiping in their churches and Muslims reciting the Name of Allah loudly and filling the mosques, loving one another with a profound love, without making any discrimination in between Shites, Alewites and Sunnis, protecting each other brotherly with a profound affection; that is what we actually want.

In the time of the Moshiach, in the time of the Messiah, all these will come true, nothing on the contrary will ever happen. It is already stated in the Torah. I beg your pardon. In the Torah treating everyone with love is commanded, treating all religions, all faiths with love is commanded. And that is the belief of the Jews anyway. That is an unnecessary fight, that is a plot of the satan and in the time of the King Messiah, Moshiach, the Mahdi, this problem will completely go away and I believe that we are in that time.
