Surat Qāf (The Letter "Qaf") Verses 36 - 45
Surat al-Qaf, Verse 36
How many generations before them We destroyed who had greater force than them and scoured many lands! Did they find any way of escape?
“How many generations before them We destroyed who had greater force than them and scoured many lands!”
The forces of Assad right now are superior to those forces in the past in terms of oppressing people. They corner Muslims in their flats, in basements and shot bullets into their faces and martyred them. “Did they find any way of escape?” Right now, people try to find places to escape; some of them flee to Turkey, others to Jordan. The sign of the verse is apparent.
Surat al-Qaf, Verse 37
“There is a reminder in that for anyone who has a heart,” There is a reminder in that for anyone who has a heart, or who listens well, having seen the evidence.
Those who have heart make good decisions, for they employ their conscience. But Almighty Allah also says, “...or who listens well, having seen the evidence”, that is to say anyone who listens well even though his heart has not entered the equation. He can also understand with his logic. “There is a reminder in that for anyone who has a heart.”A person with open heart already sees it, says Allah. But those employing their logic also see it.
Surat al-Qaf, Verse 38
We created the heavens and the earth, and everything between them, in six days and We were not affected by fatigue.
As the People of the Book say, “Allah got exhausted and then He rested.” In response Allah says, “We were not affected by fatigue.” Why would He feel fatigue? You utter the words “Allah” and “fatigue” together. Is this possible? Does Allah ever get exhausted? Then He is not Allah if He gets exhausted, may Allah forbid. His attribute is not to become tired. He does not suffer from any weaknesses.
Surat al-Qaf, Verse 39
O, be patient in the face of what they say and O, be patient in the face of what they say and glorify your Lord with praise before the rising of the sun and before it sets.
Sura al-Qaf, Verse 41
Listen out for the Day when the Summoner shall call out from a nearby place.
The Summoner is also the Hazrat Mahdi (as). Hazrat Mahdi (as) will call people to Islam, the Qur'an, and Unity of Islam. “From a nearby place, from where?” For instance, from the TV; people can hear it from the closest place. People will also hear the voice of Hazrat Mahdi (as), who is also the Summoner, everywhere. From a close place. This is the figurative meaning. There is a Summoner at the End Times, this is the aspect of the verse that refers to Hazrat Mahdi (as).
Surat al-Qaf, Verse 42
The Day they hear the Blast in truth, that is the Day of Emergence.
“The Day they hear the Blast in truth,” Hazrat Mahdi (as) will recite the oneness of Allah, his saying, ‘Allah is the One’. “That is the Day of Emergence.” It is the emergence of Hazrat Mahdi (as). The emergence of Prophet Jesus (as). Islam will appear and the Unity of Islam will be established.
Surat al-Qaf, Verse 43
It is We Who give life and cause to die and We are their final destination.
“It is We Who give life and cause to die.” Notice that it is not said, “who killed and gave life”. It seems that there is a very important sign here about Prophet Jesus (as), for Prophet Jesus (as) was taken to heaven while he was in a state of sleep. Sleep is a kind of death. We are revived everyday from sleep, right? We die everyday and then we are revived. Prophet Jesus (as) will also be revived by Almighty Allah when he comes to the world, then Allah will take his life back. That is, following the establishment of the Unity of Islam, once the Unity of Islam reigns throughout the world. “We are their final destination.” Everyone will turn to Allah.
Surat al-Qaf, Verse 44
The Day the earth splits open all around them as they come rushing forth, that is a gathering, easy for Us to accomplish.
“The Day the earth splits open all around them as they come rushing forth.” When we say “splitting of the world”; people think that their graves will still remain intact when the world is split. The fact is on the Day of Judgment those graves will be reduced to dust. That grave is not meant. The splitting may refer to the splitting of the dimension. Allah may call it “the earth”. From that dimension, “...they come rushing forth”. Allah knows best. What do they do when they see themselves standing up all of a sudden? They rush forth. “...that is a gathering, easy for Us to accomplish.” In other words, Allah says that we consider it to be very difficult, but it is very easy for Allah. Allah says that it is unimaginably easy. Allah splits that dimension. He says that they will rush towards a particular point. The Summoner calls them towards a particular place. That is why they do not understand and ask, “Where are we? Are we in the world or in the Hereafter?” They simply don’t understand. They only understand that they are dead after a while. Then they say, “This is the day promised to us.” It is very weird. They don’t understand that they are dead. They think that they lead their lives normally. They think that they have just awoken. They are taken out from one dimension and put into another dimension but they are still not aware of it. They ask, “Who woke us from our dream?” they say, “We were sleeping soundly.” They think that they are sleeping.
Surat al-Qaf, Verse 45
We know best what they say. You are not a dictator over them. So remind, with the Qur’an, whoever fears My Threat.
“We know best what they say. You are not a dictator over them.” There is a reference to Hazrat Mahdi (as) here, he is not a person who exerts oppression. He is full of compassion and mercy. The profession of Hazrat Mahdi (as) is love, compassion, mercy, forgiveness and mildness. What is the profession of the bigots? Hate, rage, revenge, hanging and chopping people up. “We know best what they say. You are not a dictator over them.” Why does Allah say so? Because He says, ‘I am the One Who creates.” Allah is the One Who creates those speeches made against Muslims and He knows them all. “So remind, with the Qur’an, whoever fears My Threat.”
Notice that Allah only mentions the Qur'an; not the book of such-and-such an Islamic scholar, or other books. Do you know what Allah accepts? Allah says that He only accepts giving admonitions in line with the Qur'an. Allah says that He does not accept otherwise.
