Explanations of verses from Surat As-Saba by Mr. Adnan Oktar
Surat As-Saba; Verse 18
We placed between them and the cities We had blessed other clearly conspicuous cities, making them measured stages on the way: ´Travel between them in safety by night and day’.
“We placed between them and the cities We had blessed other clearly conspicuous cities, making them measured stages on the way…” So Who is the One building these cities? God is the One Who builds cities. People might say; “Look, how beautiful the cities these people have built!” Yet God says; “I am the One Who creates them, I am the One Who builds them.” If there is city that we can talk about, God is the One Who builds it. When we look around we see that city God created. “We had blessed other clearly conspicuous cities, making them measured stages on the way: ´Travel between them in safety by night and day” So God says; “I am the One Who provides the security and I am the One Who created the roads.” This is a verse that stands against idolatry. If people do not think deeply and say “we built these cities,” it would be ascribing partners to God- May God forbid. If they attempt to say that they are the ones building roads, it would again be ascribing partners to God. If they attempt to say that they are the ones providing security; that would be ascribing partners to God as well. People should always be aware of the fact that God is the One Who does them all.
Surat As-Saba; Verse 21
He [satan] had no authority over them except to enable Us to know those who have faith in the Next World from those who are in doubt about it. Your Lord is the Preserver of all things.
God says that satan has no authority on people but is given this opportunity to differentiate those who believe in the Next World and those who are in doubt about it, to differentiate those with high conscientious ability. God says; “We have given this weak means to the satan.”
“Your Lord is the Preserver of all things.” So God says “I see all Muslims and I watch over them. I know every single one.”
If you pay attention you will see that all these verses are against idolatry. Idolatry, ascribing partners to God is a grave scourge. Hundreds, even thousands of verses of the Qur’an warn people against idolatry. Saying “It is not God, I am the one who did this, not God but he is the one who did that,” is what God detests the most. God says; “Know that I am the One Who creates all these so that I will increase the blessings I have bestowed upon you. But if you keep saying that you are the ones doing all those, I will cast you off and punish you.” That is because they would then be lying and showing ingratitude. That is why Almighty God does not approve such behavior.
