Surat al-’Araf: Those parts of the Torah and the Gospel that are compatible with the Qur’an are valid
Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on A9TV dated May 15th, 2014
Surat al-‘Araf, " Those who follow the Messenger, the Unlettered Prophet, whom they find written down with them in the Torah and the Gospel,"
They say, ‘We do not look at the Torah and the Gospel and we have nothing to do with them.’ In other words, they say they recognize no such books. But what does God say in the verse? " those who follow the Messenger, the Unlettered Prophet, whom they find written down with them in the Torah and the Gospel, "
He says it is written there. So there are parts of the Torah and the Gospel that are compatible with the Qur’an and that are valid. And these passages are used as evidence. God uses this as evidence in the Qur’an. Abjad [numerological] calculation gives a date of 2025.
The verse tells us that what the illiterate messenger brings, one who does not know how to read and write Arabic, is also written in the Torah and the Gospel. This messenger is someone who tells people about the Qur’an.
" commanding them to do right" in other words, he tells people what is compatible with God’s approval.
" and forbidding them to do wrong " and tells them not to do what God has forbidden.
" making good things lawful for them and bad things unlawful for them," Things like pork and blood are unlawful, but everything that is clean is lawful. Our Prophet is not making this up as he goes along. He is doing it through revelation from God.
" relieving them of their heavy loads and the chains which were around them. "This means that the fanatics have imposed heavy burdens. They have bound them with chains. People have been crushed under those burdens. Their brains and souls and minds have fallen apart. They cannot think normally, they cannot understand properly. The functions of their brains have been impaired.
God is not speaking of just any burden in the verse, but of a heavy one. The burden of fanaticism and bigotry is a very heavy one. It ruins people and society. Countries fall apart.
God says He will lift people’s ‘chains.’ Not just one chain, but ‘chains.’ Their mouths, arms and everywhere are wrapped around with chains. They are unable to live any more. The messenger will lift these chains and cast them away. He will lighten the faith. The faith will not be hard any more.
" Those who believe in him and honor him and help him, and follow the Light that has been sent down with him, they are the ones who are successful.” The people around him do not just say they believe. They also actively support him. They speak in favor of the Messenger, they defend him. They support him in all respects. They fully abide by the Qur’an. They walk in the path of the light of the Qur’an.
