A Muslim Woman Knows How to Dress in Accordance with the Qur'an

One important point that needs to be made here is that a Muslim woman knows perfectly well how to dress in accordance with the Qur'an so there is no need for a man to tell women how to dress. A man has no right whatsoever to interfere in what a woman wears, much less tell her how to dress or judge her. God has not given man that right. Today, this is an important matter that needs to be brought up and emphasized, especially in Muslim societies.
A woman may wear the head-covering, or cover herself up entirely or uncover her head or wear low-cut clothes. Once she says, “I am a Muslim,” nobody has the right to judge her. It is known only in the Sight of God which is more virtuous. It is sincerity that counts in the faith, not clothing. In the same way that someone who covers up entirely may be insincere and go to hell, a woman who wears low-cut clothes may also earn the right to enter paradise. It is God alone Who will decide.
When people adopt guides other than the Qur'an, problems arise that are unsuited to human nature and will invariably make trouble of one kind or another. These also cease to be individual problems and can transform into social conflicts or problems. The distinction based on forms of dress – such as with or without the head-covering, or low-cut clothing versus covering up entirely - is a false perception that has no place in the Qur'an and leads to tensions in society. God reveals in a verse that according to the Qur'an, superiority lies not in dress and external appearance but in piety, or taqwa (acting out of a fear of God):
Children of Adam! We have sent down clothing to you to conceal your private parts, as well as to be an adornment to you, but the garment of piety–that is best! That is one of God's signs, so that hopefully you will pay heed. (Qur'an, 7:26)
Faith is lived and made reality in the heart. Faith manifests itself through moral virtues, a person's warmth, affection, generosity, forgiving nature, quality, culture, manners and conception of art and science; in short, in everything. It is therefore important to evaluate people through their moral values, not by their external appearance.
No matter what their external appearance, people who say, “I am a Muslim” are all precious Muslims. It is wrong to discriminate between them. Nobody has the right to discriminate.

Adnan Oktar: So long as Muslims keep standing against the arts, music and women’s choices about clothes, Islamophobia will occur all around the world

ADNAN OKTAR: So long as Muslims keep standing against music, against the arts and against women’s wearing revealing clothes - for instance, because my friends are wearing revealing clothes here, I receive lots of messages about them, even though the relatives, the mothers and the sisters of those people are also wearing such clothes, yet despite that, their subconscious is filled with those ideas. Europe is also fed up with them. These people are against sculpture, against painting, against music, against entertainment, against the laughter of women, against women going outside, wearing revealing clothes, against men cutting their beards, and the punishment (they see fit for those acts) is always death.
When this is the case, people feel terrified. Islam is misrepresented as a religion of terror. That is the reason why such an antipathy is formed. Then they call it  ‘Islamophobia.’ There is terrorophobia actually, people are terrified because of terror. You are spreading terror. What does it have to do with Islam? The things you are talking about have nothing to do with Islam. You are talking about a system of terror and you are misrepresenting it as Islam. You have named terror as Islam. There is compassion, mercy, love, arts, science, aesthetics,  beauty and everything in Islam.

Individual freedoms and the regulations on clothing

The simplest definition of freedom, which has had varying interpretations in the past, is to be able to behave and act with no external intervention, hindrance or pressure. Everyone is born with the same human value. They must therefore live equally free, regardless of religion, nationality, race or opinions, and must enjoy the same human rights. Rights and freedoms cannot be limited by the majority or the strong; their implementation and protection is one of the main propulsive forces behind a prospering society.
Democratic countries, with their respect for individual rights and freedoms, differences and private life, are equally progressive in the democratic sphere. In societies with properly functioning democracies, people’s rights and freedoms are respected and protected even if they are not approved of or encouraged by others. In countries that lack a developed democratic structure, however, the majority - or the strong - can place limitations on those who do not resemble or are not of them.
There is no doubt that Turkey has recently striven to become a more transparent and advanced democracy. It has made great progress on the road to democracy with its radical reforms in recent years. The latest freedom introduced, for students at high and middle school to wear the headscarf as of their 5th year, is an excellent development in terms of Turkey’s opening up to democracy, and students who so wish have begun attending classes wearing the headscarf across the country. However, the ban on dyed hair, make-up, moustaches and beards previously enshrined in the Ministry of Education Regulation on Clothing and Appearance has been preserved entirely, and piercing and tattoos have even been added to the list. Accordingly, students at schools cannot dye their hair or have themselves tattooed or pierced. This has led to renewed debates about democracy. Many people are saying that the limitations in question have cast a shadow over the democratic gains of recent years.
However, the world changes, opinions change and pressures evaporate. The best thing to do is to adapt to advances and change on the path to democracy as much as one can.
Young people are without doubt those most affected by change. Young people now wish to be free, to live at ease and in happiness and to spend their best years free from pressure. They do not want strict discipline. Young people who wish to be pierced or tattooed want to be free to do that, without hindrance, and to enjoy their youth as they see fit, just like those choosing to wear the headscarf. Young girls who want to wear make-up to look nice or young boys who feel more handsome when they grow a beard no longer want to be restricted. Middle and high school are when they want to look their best. Let us let them dress as they please, happy and free from pressure. Schools should be brightly colored and vibrant. The peace, joy and energy that come from freedom should be felt everywhere. If the underlying reason for restrictions is a fear that young people will become degenerate, well, colors have never made anyone degenerate. The same goes for beards, moustaches, tattoos and ear rings.
The fact is that individual rights are among the most demanded human rights in the world no matter from which religion, nation or ideology one may belong to. When individuals’ rights are taken away, the result is fear, unease, restlessness and insecurity, and that inevitably leads to a structural sickness. People whose individual freedoms are taken away lose their joy, zeal and creativity. Instead of being relaxed and productive as they are when they are free and able to express themselves as they please, they become unhealthy and introverted; that does nobody any good because a youth freed from repression and able to think freely, represents the hope of the nation and a guarantee for the future. Moreover, the youth are one of a nation’s greatest forces. Turkey, with its youthful population, must make the best use of this feature and encourage young people to be free, to think freely and have the sense to assume great responsibilities.

Hostility Against Women

Ladies wearing low-neck dresses are perfect Muslims; so are those wearing headscarves. Bearing hostility against women wearing low-neck dresses is as shameful as bearing hostility against women wearing headscarves. We condemn both of these attitudes.

God has made illicit relations between men and women unlawful, not their being present in the same place

God has made illicit relations between men and women unlawful, not their being present in the same place

GOD HAS MADE ILLICIT RELATIONS BETWEEN MEN AND WOMEN UNLAWFUL, NOT THEIR BEING PRESENT IN THE SAME PLACE

Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on A9TV dated May 07-09-10-11th, 2014

(Viewer’s question) ‘Mr. Adnan, were there women with revealing clothes around our Prophet?’

These people never look at the Qur’an. Women walked around bare-chested at the time when the Qur’an was sent down. That was how it was for years. That is how it was when our Prophet was preaching. A verse came to our Prophet in which God said that women should cover their chests up. And the women covered their chests. Our prophet used to walk round the markets in those days. The verse came down, and women were told to cover up their private parts. Because nakedness was prevalent in society then. Our prophet would preach within that society.

The woman in the house where the Prophet Joseph lived wandered around literally half naked. She was in the same house as the Prophet Joseph. The woman liked him very much. He liked her, too. But he wanted nothing to do with lecherousness.

The Prophet Solomon said, “there is a pool here, so step into it,” knowing that the Queen of Sheba would reveal her legs. The verses tell us that she thought it was a deep pool, deep water. They say she exposed her legs. Traditionalist books then say that the Prophet Solomon covered his eyes with his blessed hand and did not look at her. That is an addition that have made up. What is the point of being that foolish? Of falling into that state?

He was alone with the woman. He deliberately told her to step into the pool. He knew what she would do. The woman thought it was deep water. How much of her legs will a woman expose when she imagines the water is very deep? Traditionalist commentators say that the Prophet Solomon did not look at her. Would a person do that if he were not going to look? The woman would obviously reveal her legs there. There is a wide world of fantasy among the traditionalists. The daughters of Hazrat Jethro looked with very great interest at the Prophet Moses. They said he was a very strong and trustworthy person. They liked him. They hinted to their father about marriage. The father said he would let them get married. The Prophet Moses also looked at them. They spoke face to face. Only the wives of our Prophet spoke from behind a screen, and spoke very seriously and strictly. Because Almighty God told them, “You are not like the wives of other believers.” Our prophet also told his wives that. He told them not to speak in a very attractive way. What does not being like other believers’ wives mean? It means not being free in the way that other wives are. There is nothing hard to understand about it.

What does Almighty God tell our Prophet? "After that no other women are lawful for you nor may you exchange them for other wives, even though their beauty might be pleasing to you" He says. But you can take them as concubines. It is alright if there is someone who pleases him. But from now on, taking them in marriage ios forbidden, He says. What does " even though their beauty might be pleasing to you" mean? It means he sees their beauty. He could not see it if they were all covered up.

Bülent Sezgin: The Companions and their women would purify themselves from the same bowl. And they went on the hajj [pilgrimage] together.

Adnan Oktar: The traditionalists are embarrassed by men and women being in the same place together. They never want to discuss it. Men and women were together on the hajj. Almost on top of one another. Everyone knows that. But they pretend not to. They are not strong enough to change the hajj, or prayer.

God says of the wife of Zayd that He knows her heart, that she liked him. They must have seen one another in order to like one another. God knows your heart, so why conceal what you like, He asks. He looked, and saw and liked him.

Ceylan: A verse speaks of the woman desiring the Prophet Joseph and the Prophet Joseph desiring her.

Adnan Oktar: It says they desired one another. And he was a prophet. The fanatics say, “A prophet would never do that.” But God says he desired her. May God forbid, they are even trying to teach Him right and wrong.

(Hadith): There were three markets in Quraysh. The most important one was in Ukaz. The fair of Ukaz began in the month of Zilkada and lasted 20 days. As well as being a market, poetry competitions were held and speeches were made. Our Prophet regarded preaching at this very busy fair as very important.

Women walked around with their chests exposed at this market. Some of them even walked around completely naked.

(Hadith): "I saw the Messenger of God in the market in Mecca. He spoke to the people there saying, say there is no other god than God so that you may be saved."

Did our Prophet stare at the ground as he preached? He looked at people as he spoke to them. The thinking of the fanatics is unbelievable.

(Hadith): Leading members of the Quraysh came to Abu Talip and complained about the Prophet. Abu Talib said to the Messenger of God; “My nephew, I swear to God that you will obey me. Your tribe came to me and alleged that you are going up to them in their assemblies and saying words that are unpleasing to them. If those words are suited to them, then that is excellent.” At this, the Messenger of God said, "I swear to God that I will not abandon my work, that would be harder than for one of you to bring a piece from the Sun.”

Masha’Allah. Our Prophet goes to these people’s assemblies. He speaks to them. There are women who are uncovered there, and naked women. He speaks to them all. He does not look at the ground as he speaks. He looks them in the face.

-----------
My brother, our fanatic brothers sometimes send messages in. Women wear revealing clothes in most of the world. At least 80% of them. You are leading people to irreligion because of this commandment that appears nowhere in the Qur’an. They constantly tell women to cover up and regard them as sex objects. They think of them as creatures that inflame men and lead them into crime. If we are talking about sexuality, men inflame women, too. They never talk about that side of things. Women’s lust is even stronger than that of men. They can be much more powerfully affected than men when they desire. A woman can be affected even only by a man’s figure. She can be affected if she just thinks about it. That is a known fact. Do you not regard this as a problem, my brother, your being so obsessed with women? That idea is very wrong. You must not try to add something to the faith that is not there. They say that Hazrat Fadima said this. Were you there with Hazrat Fadima at the time? Why do you not talk about verses from the Qur’an? You never quote from the Qur’an. These statements are untrue. They are lying. We must learn the truth from the Qur’an.

They have literally wiped Islam from the map because of this matter of covering women up. They have turned Egypt into a river of blood. Just because of fanaticism and dislike of women. Not taking women seriously. God has visited a huge scourge on Egypt. The reason why the problems in Syria are continuing is that women are not valued. Troubles are raining down, but they cannot see it.

-------------
Every country that is against women will collapse.

Afghanistan has collapsed. The sole reason is that they oppose freedom for women. What do you care if a woman goes around in shorts or uncovers her hair? You wander round in shorts yourself, my brother. You are free, so why should women not be free? They say that women inflame passions. But men can turn women on, too. They never say a word about that. A woman can be turned on by someone lawful for her when she so wishes. This is the law of God for men and women. But a woman will act in the light of faith and reason. If someone is lawful, she will do as she wishes.

This pressure they put on women is very dangerous. The primary reason why the anger has not calmed down in Egypt is this repression of women. And the laws that enforce repression of women. The military regime’s desire for revenge has not come to an end. It says it will hang them all. Asked why, they say because of the way the fanatics have oppressed women. That is the reason for America’s hatred and for Islamophobia. This pressure on women. Leave women alone to dress as they please. Don’t interfere with these blessed people. Troubles will rain down on anyone who does.

Every Islamic country in which women are not free will collapse. I know what I am talking about. It is wrong to regard women as second class and people from hell, and to force them to cover up.

These people say that women affect men. Then if we put you (men) inside a full body covering so you could not see anywhere, that would also resolve the problem. I am thinking of having these men wander round fully covered in hijab. Women could then be free. They would feel much more comfortable. Islam would long since have prevailed across the world if they would just let women be free. These people are the only reason why Islam has not prevailed. Because of the pressure on and violence against women. Have we not seen all countries in which women are not free collapse?

----------------
Did women dye their hair in the time of the Messenger of God?

(Viewer’s question) Was special grooming available for men and women in the time of the Messenger of God? Did women dye their hair?

Adnan Oktar: I have already discussed this at length, but still they ask. Our Prophet (pbuh) used to dye his own hair black. With a mixture of henna and dye. Our mother Hazrat Ayesha says we used to dye our hair from the same bowl. They can see that bowl at Topkapı Palace, among the sacred relics. Our mother Hazrat Ayesha says we used to dye our hair together. Using natural dye.

Our Prophet recommends three dyes for ladies. But he says he likes blond the best. And he says he likes red. Ladies at the time applied a kind of rouge to their cheeks, known as haluq. They used henna on their hands as rouge. But since our brothers are ignorant of all this they try to make women look like men with that strange logic of theirs. Our Prophet forbids that. He says that women should not look like men.

Our Prophet used natural dye to color his hair and beard. There were none of today’s artificial dyes then.

Our Prophet says, 'Jews and Christians cannot dye their hair. You must oppose them, and dye it.' Muslim, the Libas section, Abu Dawud, the Taracul section, An-Nasai, the Zinnat section, Tirmidhi, the Libas section.

Our Prophet tells people who apply henna to their hair that this is a very good thing.

'Soon afterward, someone who had dyed his hair and beard with henna and flax came, and he said that he was more attractive than the ones before’. Later there came someone who had dyed his hair yellow, and he said he was more attractive than them all.' He meant that blond is the best of all. This appears in Abu Dawud and Ibni Majah. They used a special blond dye in those days. They also used to dye their clothes with it.

---------------
Islam will prevail in a society in which women are free. But if a country becomes a hell on earth for women, God will destroy that country. Women make up half the population. If half the population are oppressed, God will destroy that country. They think women are easy prey and imagine it is easy to keep them down. Look, there are very few women in the [Turkish] Parliament. They should make up at least half of it. Men want to decide what women wear. What business is it of yours, my brother. Do women interfere in your business? Men do all kinds of things to look good. They wander round as they please on the beaches. Women suffer the worst violence in the world, followed by children. Because women and children cannot defend themselves. That is why some immoral types kill women or children. They inflict that evil on them because they are defenseless. That evil will cease in the time of the system of the Mahdi. Women will go around like flowers. And nobody will touch a hair on their heads. Our Prophet reveals that, 'They will be able to go as far as Sham without a man alongside them.’ What does that mean? Male sovereignty will cease. They will be able to go as far as Sham without a man with them, and be in no danger. When? In the time of the Mahdi.

--------------
They claim that Muslims must not have any fun. My brother, you have wiped Islam off the face of the earth. Have you no fear of God? This fanatical mentality of yours has wiped Islam off the face of the earth. Thanks be to God, He has sent His Mahdi, and the corruption is being sorted out. They are now abiding by the Mahdi, willingly or otherwise. World leaders are all going along with the Mahdi, willingly or unwillingly.

Muslims can have guitars and drums and clarinets in their homes. They can laugh and have fun. Because fun also exists in paradise. They have killed the spirit of Islam. They have killed its artistic power. They have taken the love from people’s hearts and replaced it with hate. They have taken away the beauty and replaced it with crudity. They have replaced it with lovelessness. They call a young person who wears modern clothes irreligious. They regard a young girl who dyes her hair as irreligious. They regard anyone who laughs as irreligious. They tell each other that molten lead pours into the ears of anyone who listens to music. They say that angels do not come into a house due to the [human and animal] image on newspaper. What is this all about? What is going on here?

In the End Times, people will be ashamed to say they pray to God

In the End Times, the antichrist will try to corner Muslims. In Surah al-Alaq, God says ‘...they will try to prevent people from praying’. The antichrist is portraying prayer as something to be ashamed of. Sometimes some people enter into the service of the antichrist with or without knowing, they serve him or talk like him, without even realizing it. For example, when they ask ‘Do you really pray?’, the person says ‘No way, how can you think I’d do that?’. They say ‘But that’s what we heard, that’s what they told us.’ ‘It’s not true, it’s my private life. I’d have told you if I was, but it’s not true’, he answers.

But praying is a beauty to be proud of, right? When someone asks you ‘Are you compassionate?’, obviously you would answer ‘Yes, I am’, right? You wouldn't say ‘It’s my private life, I can’t tell’. He should be proud of it, but he is afraid, the mountains of fear are scaring him. Or for example, they ask us why we support the AKP. How can I not, especially when the situation is like this now? If such a question is asked like you are being threatened, you would of course be drawn to people who are praying, and you would shy away from people who show prayer as something to be ashamed of. There is nothing surprising about that. No one should think any differently about this. Everything is clear. One hadith says ‘...in the end of times, the antichrist will show some places as heaven, and people who go there will see that actually where they went is hell.’ For example he thinks he is in heaven, that he will have fun; but he sees there are drugs, prostitution, insults, threats, danger, death and he finds himself in the middle of hell. Another hadith says: ‘If any of you sees those days, go to the place which is shown as fire’. Because this is the End Times. The hadith says: ‘He should go to the river that looks like fire, shut his eyes, bow his head down and drink out of it, because it is beautiful cold water’. In other words, Islam will be shown to you like a horrible thing, but you approach Islam and the Qur'an, and you will find peace. For example, we explain how Qur'anic Islam is the real Islam, the free Islam, the modern Islam, the way the companions practiced Islam and many react: ‘It is fire’, ‘It is very dangerous’, ‘They are going to hell’, ‘They are not wearing headscarves’, ‘They are listening to music’, ‘They are wearing nice clothes, ‘Ladies are putting on make up’, ‘They are going to hell’ they say. ‘If any of you sees those days, go to the place which is shown as fire’. It is a beautiful life, says Prophet Mohammad (pbuh).

‘The antichrist will have a mountain of bread next to him.’ Sahih Muslim passes on the same hadith as follows: ‘The antichrist will be accompanied by mountains of bread and meat and rivers of water’. In other words, they will intimidate people with the threat of lack of food, and will try to use them for their evil purposes. For example they give them the message that ‘If you are religious, you cannot succeed'; if you are religious, doors will be closed to you, you’ll be destroyed if you say you are praying, they’ll destroy you if you say you fraternize with religious people, you’ll be destroyed if you say you met Adnan Hodja, it’ll be the end of you if you say you know other hodjas, if you say you read the Qur'an, you’ll be ruined. Said Nursi says that they will threaten people with lack of food, lack of future and get them on his side, ‘They will fall onto his roof and become his prisoner’ says Said Nursi.

Another hadith says ‘Those who don't follow the antichrist, will face difficulties.’ And what will those following the antichrist say? [They will say]: ‘I don't know the Muslims, I don't pray, I don't fast, I don't practice Islam, or follow Qur'an’. And then they say ‘Perfect then. Now we’ll like you, elect you, praise you. By the way, do you happen to know this hodja?’ He answers ‘No way, why would I?’ They say ‘It’s just we heard it, they even said you were praying.’ He answers ‘Definitely not’. The others say: ‘We also didn't think you would, but we just heard that, and it would be like a disaster, especially before the elections. It’s not true, right?’

He says ‘It’s a complete lie, I’m definitely not praying. This is a private question, why do you pry into my private life?’. This shows the intensity of the End Times. He says, ‘There is no way I would fraternize with Muslims, I’ve never met them’. But when he is asked ‘Do you know this communist?’, he says ‘Of course, we are really good buddies.’

Or they ask him: ‘Do you know this Darwinist, that materialist?’ He says: ‘I always talk to him, we are such good friends. We always get together, he is like a brother to me. I like him a lot.’ But when he is asked ‘What about this Muslim? Do you know him?’ He says ‘Definitely not, I never would ’.

These things are normal in the End Times. It is even narrated in the hadiths that the antichrist will kill people who don't follow him. Indeed, look around the world, there are disasters everywhere. He retaliates by killing. The satans will tell the antichrist ‘Tell us what you want and we’ll do it’. And he will say ‘Go and tell people I am their god’. In other words, tell them humans are the result of coincidences, that the universe popped into existence coincidentally, what Darwin said is true, tell them there is no god. He sends satans all around the world. Listen: ‘God will send him the satans and the satans will tell the antichrist tell us what you want and we’ll do it.’

'The antichrist will have one day and one nights' distance between his two feet. In one stride, he will cover long distances. With his right hand he will grab the clouds and watch the Sun and the stars.’ This is obviously a description of someone riding in a plane. How else could someone feel like he is grabbing the clouds? He is passing through the clouds, he is grabbing the clouds? How can he watch the Sun move? Because the plane moves as the Sun rises, and because he moves too, the rising continues for him. Or for example he starts flying while the Sun is setting, and it keeps rising as he moves and stops only towards the midday. ‘The antichrist will have one day and one nights' distance between his two feet’. In other words he will move very fast; this hadith refers to a speed of 300 or 400 km/h.

Women Respect and Protection

(In response to a mail from a viewer asking, “Is it permissible for a woman to put make-up on and go out?”)
Depending on the situation and circumstances. If a woman is going to meet with high-quality people, with rational people, if she is going to be respected, then she should show her respect by going there looking nice and well. But if there are immoral, low-life types there, then she should dress in such a way as to protect herself. She should dress according to the situation. If cars are coming, you wait on the sidewalk. Then you cross when they have gone. If food is hot, you wait a bit. You have to use your head.

In the time of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) Muslims will treasure and have a very high opinion of women

In the time of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) Muslims will treasure and have a very high opinion of women

In the time of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) Muslims will treasure and have a very high opinion of women

Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on A9TV dated November 12th, 2013

Adnan Oktar:  Throughout the world, in many parts of the world, women are treated as if they were second class beings. Well, how is it that you interfere with their attire? How is it that you meddle with where they are going? That is unbelievable. There is such a male dominance. I look at the National Assembly, there are not much ladies there. Only a few. They are very rare, very very rarely we look and see a lady in the crowd. There are ladies who do cover their heads who newly are able to enter the National Assembly, masha'Allah, Elhamdulillah, yet they are very rare, there are only a few of them. In fact, at least half of the national assembly should be consisted of ladies. And that is the least. How did this happen? Do they[women] come up with any rules about men? How can you go and make judgments, rules about ladies? How can you demand that they do this, or do that? Who are you to have such a right? I am not talking about the law-makers I am talking about the general public; where did you get that right from? How can you tell anyone to eat this, drink that, to sit here, to talk this way, to go out here but not there? Well my Lord, that is unbelievable. There is a massive barbarity in the world in that sense. Why do you interfere? You have no right to interfere in any way. I mean even our saying "you cannot interfere" is redundant; it is unbelievable that we are forced to spell it out like this. It is inconceivable. This is one of the important incidents of the End Times. In the time of Hazrat Mahdi, this oppression, this injustice carried out about women will completely go away. This is explicitly stated in the hadiths. It is explicitly stated that ladies will attain complete security. They will be able to go until Damascus in safety all unattended, all the way till Damascus. What does this mean? It means an amazing security is ensured. But that is not the case right now.

We look at those who preach Islam and see that the more scourged it is, the more repressive it is, the better they consider it to reflect Islam. Just like Hindus, they think that the more they suffer, the worst conditions they have in their houses, the worst attire they have on them, the more sacred they believe it would be. They even consider the bad breath they have as sacred and I say this in disgust. They have invented accounts stating that it is sacred. God gave us all kinds of means for cleanliness, come to your senses! How can one stink like that and have such a bad breath. They come up with a camouflage for all those. Muslim smells like a flower, what are you doing? That is a characteristic of hell, the mouths of the people in the hell stink, their bodies stink; and that is given to them as a trouble for them. The mouths of the people in the Heaven smell beautifully, their bodies are immaculately clean.

They [the bigots] do not want ladies to use perfumes or deodorants and those poor ones, let us say some of them, in fact quite a lot of them stink. They really smell bad. I mean it is a pity for those kids, I ask them; "Why do you not use deodorants?" and they say "They have prohibited that to us. They said it is unlawful for ladies to use deodorants."  So stinking like that is lawful, that stinky smell is lawful? Is it not a pity that they have made you like this, why are you humiliating yourself like this? Why do you let them turn you into this?

Well, ladies should smell like flowers. Be immaculately clean. Women should smell like soap. But those bigots say; "well you cannot go out like this." Look at that mentality! The system of the Mahdi is a system that will wipe out all these troubles, all these problems insha'Allah.

Respect Women

Adnan Oktar Says

The headscarf is not the issue, freedom is

The headscarf is not the issue, freedom is

The headscarf is not the issue, freedom is

Recently women’s rights as to wear a hijab or burqa in public spaces have become a matter of discussion in many countries of the world: Turkey is one of them.
In the last weeks, for the first time in the history of the 90 year old Turkish Republic, three female MPs entered the parliament wearing headscarves, and they did not face any reaction from the opposition parties. In this way, a very deep-seated problem was solved through political consensus.
However, a member of parliament who  made a similar attempt in 1999 was confronted  with strong reaction from the opposition, expelled from the parliament hall and this episode caused great tension nationwide.
However, a lot has changed in Turkey  and now women are granted their freedom to wear hijab both in public spaces and at universities. Nowadays there is a similar discussion underway in Singapore.
Meetings have taken  place between government officials and Islamic groups who demand the right to wear the hijab  for Muslim women who work in professions in the public sector that require a uniform like policing, nursing and the security services.
There are those who think that such a practice would injure  feelings of equality and justice as well as those who say that this must be allowed in the context of freedom of faith.
I have no doubt that Singapore, which harbours several religious groups and ethnic communities, will overcome this problem easily because the Muslim minority, which is 15% of the total population, has lived freely in the country for decades without facing any pressure or oppression.
However, this problem is not limited to Turkey and Singapore. Whether in Islamic or Western countries, hijab and burqa are still an  important matter of discussion.
For example, it is mandatory to wear hijab in Iran and in most of the Arab-owned airlines, hostesses have to wear a headscarf whether they are atheists or from another faith.
In Saudi Arabia, women are prohibited to drive. In Europe, there are often heated  discussions on this subject.
In countries like France, Belgium, Italy and Germany, there are limitations on wearing either the hijab or burqa in workplaces that belong to the public sector and even in open public spaces. Especially France, which has a Muslim population of five million, has very strict and serious limitations on this. Therefore, a majority of covered women has cut themselves off completely from social life.
Actually, limiting these discussions to wearing of the headscarf is one of the primary causes of the tension. When we see this as a matter of freedom, no doubt, a solution will be much  easier. Had the people who defended the rights of women wearing hijab defended the rights of women wearing low-cut dresses as much as they do regarding the headscarf issue, or vice versa, these problems would be solved in no time.
We should be troubled about women wearing low-cut dresses being treated as second class citizens and being indicted as “dirty and sinful” by bigots as much as we are about women wearing hijab being deprived of their rights to education and not being able to work in the jobs they want. We must consider the rights of all women within the context of religious freedom; the rights of Muslims, non-Muslims, atheists and Buddhists.
The way to prevent the matter of wearing of the hijab from becoming an artificial source of tension is not to open up discussions, marginalize those who don't wear hijab or establish an environment of  spiritual pressure  but rather to support freedom as much as possible.
It is important not to forget that the hijab is not the sole problem of women throughout the world.
For instance, one in every three women is exposed to violence at some time  in her life throughout the world; one woman is raped every 90 seconds and there are millions of women who are killed by their husbands; one in every two women is illiterate in the Arab world; women are not entitled to the right to divorce in countries like Iran; 80% of immigrants throughout the world are  women;1 and there are hundreds of problems like these that women face. When we look at Muslim countries we see that these problems are much more deeply-rooted.
What needs to be done is to abandon the mistaken point of view that women’s sole problem is wearing a headscarf and to strive for a change of mentality that will give women the value they deserve; especially in the Muslim world, when women are considered as second-class citizens and even as of equivalent value to animals, it is shutting one’s eyes to reality that Muslims are focused on a debate regarding the hijab.
Let’s first teach the entirety of  humanity “respect, love and compassion for women”, and talk about  “the importance of treating women like a flower” as it is revealed in the Quran.
Together, let’s eradicate the mentality that humiliates women by showing the superstitions in Islamic sources as evidence.
Let us show the whole world that women and men are equal in every way in the Quran. If we change this crooked mentality that has turned into a system of oppression against women through cooperation and with the spirit of Islam, no doubt debates such as the issue of the headscarf will disappear of their own accord.
