ADNAN OKTAR: Now look. We can see how the word "son" or "son of God" passed to Christianity from the Torah, the Old Testament which Christians do regard as a divine book. You know they abide by the Torah. The Old Testament and the New Testament. Have a look at how it appears in the Old Testament;
1 Chronicles 28:6 "He [the Lord] said to me: 'Solomon your son is the one who will build My house and My courts, for I have chosen him to be My son, and I will be his Father." This is a figurative meaning. All the Jews know. I will be his father means I will protect him. "Son" means "My servant," and it is used in that sense.
Psalm 89:26-29 Look, it says, "He will call out to Me, 'You are my Father'". He says he will address Allah in that way. By "Father," he does not mean father in the classic sense we understand it, he uses it in the sense of a Creator, Who gives food, Who provides everything necessary for survival, as an expression of devotion to Allah, but not in the sense of a physical father. It is a figurative term. All Jews know this. "He will call out to Me, 'You are my Father.. And I will appoint him to be My firstborn, the most exalted of the kings of the earth.'" Look, "My first son", "the most exalted of the kings of the earth". Almighty Allah says this of the Prophet David (pbuh). Look, "'And I will appoint him to be My firstborn, the most exalted of the kings of the earth.'" Words of praise from Allah. All Jews know this. In the plain sense, Jews regard this as polytheism. This is a figurative meaning.

In reference to the King Messiah (the Mahdi). Psalm 2:7-9 "I will proclaim the Lord's decree:"  I will announce the decrees of Allah. "He said to me, 'You are My son.." Allah calls the King Messiah (the Mahdi) "you are My son." So that is a word of praise with which Almighty Allah expresses His love for him. "You are My son," meaning "I have created you I am protecting you".  ".. today I have become your Father." Meaning "I have become the Father Who protects and watches over you."  This is in the spiritual sense, not in the physical sense, not in the sense of father who has a relationship with a woman, not in the sense of a physical mother-father relation. "Ask Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance,
the ends of the earth your possession." Almighty Allah says to Mahdi that He will make him reign all over the world. "You will break them with a rod of iron;
you will dash them to pieces like pottery." So Allah says in the Torah to the Mahdi [King Mashiach] that he will dash the unbelievers, the perverts to pieces like pottery. Just like the way we talk about the way we have crashed the intellectual system of the dajjal (antichrist).
Look it says in Malachi 3:17 "On the day when I act," Meaning ;" On the day when I produce My community, the Muslims," says the Lord Almighty. "..they will be my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as a father has compassion and spares his son who serves him" You see where the father-son relationship comes from. "..I will spare them, just as a father has compassion and spares his son who serves him." The word "father" in the Torah is used to emphasize the compassion of a father, the protection of a father.
My brothers, some of our Christian brothers interpret this in another way, as if it referred to a real son. Yet Allah is unfettered by such a concept. But if you mean it in a figurative sense, then of course we fully respect that and you will have spoken the exact truth. If you mean it in the sense of a manifestation of Allah or in the figurative sense employed here in the Torah, that is fine as well. Isn't it? Insha'Allah.
For example, in Proverbs 3: 11-12.
"My son, do not despise the Lord's discipline.." Allah's discipline.. "and do not resent His rebuke, " For instance Allah may give a disease, a kind of sickness. "..
because the Lord disciplines those He loves, as a Father the son He delights in." So it says, just like a father feeling love for his son, He might rebuke His sun in order to discipline him when necessary. This being a father and son is figurative. It is a simile. So this is a term used to emphasize love, closeness and protection. That is why we feel affection for our Christian brothers, because we know that they will look at things from this perspective. But this obviously does not refer a father-son relationship like a relationship involving a woman, may Allah forbid. Insha'Allah.
