Muslims’ suffering is due to some Muslims who does not regard the Qur’an as sufficient
Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on A9TV dated May 21th, 2014
Gökalp Barlan: God says this in one verse, I seek shelter from the accursed satan; "Among them is a group who distort the Book with their tongues so that you think it is from the Book when it is not from the Book. They say, ‘It is from God,’ but it is not from God. They tell a lie against God and they know it."
Adnan Oktar: Could you repeat that?
Gökalp Barlan: "Among them is a group who distort the Book with their tongues so that you think it is from the Book.”
Adnan Oktar: They say something, and you ask where did you get that from? I am speaking from the Qur’an, he says. They say the hadiths already say something. Have you gone crazy, my brother? You say things are in the Qur’an and then in the hadiths. If they are in the Qur’an, then point to the verses.
“It makes no difference if something is in the Qur’an or the hadiths, they are one and the same,” they say. My brother, you have made it up, it is a fabrication. The Qur’an is the word of God.
Gökalp Barlan: Yet they say it is not from that book.
Adnan Oktar: But this is not the command of the Qur’an and not that of God.
Ender Ataç: Another verse says, "..We bring you the truth and the best of explanations. "
Adnan Oktar: Look, in verse 51 of Surat al-‘Ankabut God says, "Is it not enough for them that We have sent down to you the Book which is recited to them?“
Do you know what they say? “It is not enough, not enough at all.” “The Qur’an is of no value without the hadiths,” they say. If we compare the Qur’an and the hadiths, are the hadiths by themselves sufficient,” one asks. “Yes,” they say. “Is the Qur’an sufficient by itself?” “No.”
“They say, “If you act in the light of the Qur’an you will go wrong, but if you act in the light of the hadiths alone you will be saved.”
So why have you been so devastated? Look, "Is it not enough for them that We have sent down to you the Book which is recited to them?“ says God. These people say that it is not sufficient.
Look, verse 116 of Surat an-Nahl, "Do not say about what your lying tongues describe…’ do not produce false hadiths, in other words, do not say “This is lawful and this is unlawful.”
You ask whether this is unlawful according to the Qur’an, and they say, “Of course it is not unlawful according to the Qur’an.”
Look, I met an orthodox Muslim type the other day. “On the basis of the Qur’an a very simple form of faith emerges. Everything is too easy. So there will be no faith left,” he said.
He says that there will be no faith left, that it will all be too easy. What kind of religion would that be, he says.
Look, he has invented a religion off the top of his own head, then he looks for that in the Qur’an. When he cannot find it, he rejects the Qur’an. I look for the faith I have invented in the Qur’an, and if I cannot find it there, then the Qur’an is invalid, he is saying.
Gökalp Barlan: There is another verse in which God says, “Say: ‘Do you presume to teach God your religion”
Adnan Oktar: They have the presumption to try and teach God religion and moral values.

Adnan Oktar: Find the verses about the sufficiency of the Qur’an, and let us read them. People must reflect on these. They never wonder why the Muslim world has been so devastated. Yet the fact they do not regard the Qur’an as sufficient is concrete evidence, isn’t it?
Why should God destroy you if you read the Qur’an. God says that if people abide by the Qur’an, He will not destroy them. But you have been ruined. So, my brother, you should be reflecting on what you have done. You have not abided by the Qur’an. You did not regard the Qur’an as sufficient, so you have been ruined.
That is why Afghanistan has been devastated and why Iraq has been devastated. It is why Syria and Libya have been devastated. The whole Muslim world has been made wretched.
And lovelessness and selfishness prevail across the world.
Bülent Sezgin: In another verse, God says; " When they are told, ‘Follow what God has sent down to you,’ They say, ‘We are following what we found our fathers doing.’"
Adnan Oktar: Tradition. Traditions from their forefathers.
Bülent Sezgin: " What, even though their fathers did not understand a thing and were not guided!
Adnan Oktar: My brother, why go along with your forefathers if they did not abide by the Qur’an? They did wrong. Are you ancestors more truthful, or the Qur’an? They say their forefathers cannot make a mistake. Can the Qur’an make a mistake? They should say that ‘God, forgive us’ and that the Qur’an cannot make a mistake.
They say their forefathers cannot make a mistake. My brother, your ancestor has made a mistake, and that is why you are in such trouble.
The Qur’an cannot be in error. God cannot be in error.
Kartal Göktan: In another verse, God says; "When Our Clear Signs are recited to them, those who do not expect to meet Us say, ‘Bring a Qur’an other than this one or change it.’ Say: ‘It is not for me to change it of my own accord. I follow nothing except what is revealed to me. I fear, were I to disobey my Lord, the punishment of a Dreadful Day.’"
Adnan Oktar: Look, they add things to the Qur’an or take bits out. They are doing the same thing now. They have added things to the Qur’an and taken other things out, and they have changed the practices in the Qur’an.
